Right to Buy, Preserved Right to Buy & the Right to Acquire

The majority of Riverside tenants do not have Right to Buy. Depending on your tenancy and how or when your rented home was built, some Riverside tenants may have the Preserved Right to Buy or Right to Acquire their home at a discount.

To find out whether you are eligible to purchase your home through these schemes, please visit http://righttobuy.gov.uk/ or contact us through the Right to Buy Enquiry Form on this page.

The government’s Right to Buy Agent service also offers free and impartial advice on Right to Buy. If you decide that home ownership is the right choice for you, their advisors can also help you through the process.

Midlands Voluntary Right to Buy Pilot

Riverside took part in a government trial scheme to offer certain tenants in the Midlands region the opportunity to buy their home with a discount. The pilot scheme has now closed. Information and any updates are on the government Right to Buy website at https://righttobuy.gov.uk

Home Ownership Scheme for Tenants (HOST)

As most Riverside tenants do not have the Right to Buy or Right to Acquire, Riverside has developed its own voluntary scheme to assist eligible tenants to buy their property. If you live in a house (not a flat, maisonette, bungalow etc.), in an eligible area, you may be able to buy your home at full open market value, without a discount.

To find out whether you are eligible for the HOST scheme, please complete our Right to Buy Enquiry Form.
