Wave of new homes in Wavertree

Thursday 21 May 2015

The Picton Road development by Riverside Home Ownership will offer hopeful buyers 10 affordable homes through its shared ownership scheme.

The new homes are expected to go on the market for just £27,500 for a 25% share, making the development a fantastic option for first time buyers who want to get a foot on the property ladder.

Shared ownership gives buyers the possibility of part owning a property and paying reduced rent on the remainder, which is owned by a housing association such as Riverside.

A selection of 4 two-bedroom and 6 three-bedroom properties make the development ideal for growing families and the homes are expected to be ready to move into by the end of the year.

The development is being built at the site of an old rail depot in Wavertree on a key route to Liverpool city centre.

The 10 properties available to buy through shared ownership are being built as part of a wider development by Riverside housing association which will offer 100 homes to rent.

The rented properties will be available in 2016 whilst the shared ownership homes are expected to be ready by November on a different part of the site.

Jennifer Bailey, Sales and Negotiator at Riverside Home Ownership says, "the new development will provide an affordable solution to buying a property and give buyers a helping hand in finding their dream home.

With excellent transport links, home owners are perfectly situated to enjoy a residential neighbourhood which has easy access to the city centre - a perfect option for the commuter!"
